With the amendment sought to be introduced in the Law No. 6585 on the Regulation of Retail Trade, it is desired to impose an administrative fine from one hundred thousand Turkish Liras to one million Turkish Liras for each violation on manufacturers, suppliers and retail enterprises that make an exorbitant increase in the sales price of a good or service. In addition, an administrative fine of one million Turkish Liras to twelve million Turkish Liras is imposed on manufacturers, suppliers and retail enterprises that create shortages in the market, disrupt the market balance and free competition, and prevent the consumer from accessing the goods, as well as an administrative fine for violating at least three times in a calendar year, It is requested that the Ministry be given the authority to close the workplaces of suppliers and retail enterprises for up to six days.
